Highlights from the 47th Annual General Meeting of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union

Election of Officers

  • Sid Tatana was made a Life Member of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union
  • Richard Dahlberg retired as president of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby union after 3 years as President and 2 years as Vice president
  • Bryan Weatherstone was elected President
  • Doug Bracewell was elected Vice President

Independent directors Catherine Rossiter-Stead and Paora Ammunson both stood down as their three year term ended. The board will announce the two new independent directors in the following weeks.

Rebecca Sayer and Jason Carruthers remain as independent directors

Tim Nathan and Dennis Dougherty are the Council of Clubs Representatives on the WBRU board.

Sellar and Sellar were appointed as Auditors

Financial and non-financial results

The WBRU board reported a $1,094.00 surplus

Player numbers were steady from last year with a small increase to 2,585 registered players

The WB Referee Association continues to maintain healthy number of active referees

All clubs were represented again in the local club competition

The WBRU announced the introduction of Quick Rip and a women’s secondary competition

In 2018 the WBRU will host the Hurricances under 16 tournament
