Decision: Pioneer Rugby Club Appeal.
The Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union Appeal Panel has confirmed the appeal made by the Pioneer Rugby Club to overturn the Judicial Panel’s decision against the playing of ineligible players in the promotion relegation game against Masterton Red Star has failed.
The submissions made by the Pioneer Rugby Club failed to convince the Appeal Panel that the Judicial Panel had made an error in determining their original decision.
The Judicial Panel’s original decision had concluded in their written judgment, the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union had “robust” processes in place and all relevant details regarding player eligibility for all games was well communicated to all involved in a timely and orderly manner.
The Appeal Panel has indicated they will be making some recommendations to the Council of Club in their final report.
