Highlights from the 46th Annual General Meeting of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union
Held 1st May 2017.
A good turnout attended the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union annual general meeting held on Monday 1st May 2017.
The following are the highlights of the 2016 season.
- The WBRU recorded an operating surplus of $58,245.00
- Player numbers had increased 18% since 2012
- The board reported an 83% score in its annual NZRU/WBRU balance scorecard (top 3 in NZ)
- The Farriers Heartland team finished in the top 4 of the Mitre 10 Championship
- The WBRU B’s won the RDO shield competition
- The WBRU women’s sevens made the national finals
- Rebecca Mahoney debuted as a referee in the international circuit.
- The Hurricane’s reconfirmed the under 18 camp and secondary school’s sevens to be held at Trust House Memorial Park for 2017.
- College rugby showing strength and growth through the Wednesday competition
- Junior Rugby to increased resources and investment from 2017
