dbDead Ball Charlie’s Highlights of the week

The next three weeks rugby are the most exciting for the union for years – it is fair to say either Eketahuna, Pioneer or Greytown will win the Moose Kapene Cup but since they all have to play each other DBC says “our game – just brilliant”.

Eketahuna versus Greytown looks like a real cracker and whoever wins then has the opportunity to take on Pioneer for effectively a finals game for the Kapene Cup – who would of thought it would be this close?

Then you have 5 teams hunting down the important 4th position on the table going into the second round. All we need now is Carterton and East Coast to sneak an upset win and it is all on for those 5 teams.

Well done Rebecca Mahoney for the change of career to refereeing – DBC reckons she will go all the way as a referee. (Read 1st May Times Age)

On a disappointing note – heard some wellabled people, parking in the invalids car park at Memorial Park – come on guys lets respect our community and do the decent thing.

Dead Ball Charlie is gearing up the duck shooting season – but remember lets be safe out there.
