Information for teams and players using the new turf

1. Footwear – sprigs are highly recommended
2. Mouthguards compulsory
3. Showering – no mud, no shower? – WRONG, personal hygiene is crucial
4. Team management and reserves must be situated in the red zone
5. Clean Boots
6. No smoking, chewing gum, food or non-sports drinks allowed on the field
7. Flat sole shoes at all times for non-players (other than sports boots)

Car Park (Club Finals and Heartland $5.00)
1. The ground now has a perimeter fence – access will only be available through the manned gates.
2. WBRU Player Passes – normal conditions apply (WBRU player passes will not give you access to Wairarapa Heartland Football games. There is an hour between the rugby and football, so you can make your choice then if you wish to attend – charges to football matches will be the same as rugby).

It will take a few weeks to bed in the new systems and dealing with the ebbs and flows – we ask for your patience

So how does a normal week now look at the ground?

Monday – Rugby trainings
Tuesday – Football trainings
Wednesday – College Sports
Thursday – Football training
Friday – JAB and Friday games
Saturday – Rugby and Football
Sunday – Rugby trainings and Women’s Football

In 2014 Trust House Memorial Park was used for 100 hours.

In 2015, 100 hours will be exceeded in the first 4 weeks after opening.

Dead Ball Charlie’s Highlights of the week

Can’t believe this weekend the new turf and the stadium will be up and running. It’s been a train station down at the Park over the last 6 months and DBC can’t wait for the first ball to be kicked.

Let’s give a big hand to the contractors, Higgins, Polytan, Taylors Electrical, Riggs Zschokke, Electra Fence, Daytech, Robbie Rimene, Farry McLeod, Terry Fleet, Corey Electrical, Sun Alliance, Masterton District Council, Wairarapa Scrap Metal, Logan Gold Walsh, The Sign Factory and the Wairarapa Supporters Club with their new outdoor deck.

And what about those organisations that got behind the project – Trust House, Masterton District Council, Lottery Board, Eastern & Central Community Trust, Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union, Wairarapa United, New Zealand Rugby Union and Capital Football.
