“ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY”

Coaches & Managers PLEASE note – Referees are being remaindered of the NZRU Directive that it is mandatory (…read compulsory … ) for ALL PLAYERS at every level of rugby in NZ to WEAR a MOUTHGUARD.

The NZRU DSLVs directs that the Referee MUST send a player from the field to get a mouthguard if that player is seen to be without one – if sent from the field this player cannot return to play for 10 minutes and cannot be replaced or substituted for these 10 minutes.

Can we ask all Coaches and Managers to take the responsibility to ENSURE all their players have a mouthguard BEFORE the game – this is a player and team responsibility.

There are no “if’s” or “but’s” – No Mouthguard = No Game for that player !!

PLEASE don’t put it back on the Referee who is between a rock and a hard place …

deadballDead Ball Charlie’s Highlights

What a season, a real theatre of sport this year in 2016.

Highly competitive Tui Cup and has anyone noticed that if Gladstone and Pioneer pick up 5 points this weekend it is all on for the final round of the competition.

I am going to take a gamble here and if the results go the way I expect them too, the points table rulebook will be the most sort after publication next week as all the permutations play out.

And what about the Burger King Cup competition – 4 teams all capable of winning. This is anyone’s competition.

It even gets better – the College competition is heading for a showdown if Chanel College sneaks a win in the next game. Five teams and 4 spots.
