Wairarapa College vs. Rongotai
Wairarapa College and Rongotai have resurrected their annual traditional sports exchange after 20 years. The school has produced All Blacks Ofisa Tonu’u, Ma’a Nonu, Julian Savea and his brother Ardie. After checking back through the records it was found that Rongotai were the last holders of the ‘Half Century Cup’, last played for in 1994.

The traditional has also found a new permanent home at the Featherston rugby club.

Rongotai were big and abrasive group with a stack of talented players who really tested the college teams defensive structure. Wairarapa played a more clinical game, doing the little things more accurate, allowing them to win 14-5 in the testing weather conditions.

Wairarapa College will now move their focus towards their knock out Co-Ed cup game against Feilding High School on the 30th July at Wairarapa College at 2:30pm.
