Hurricanes U18 Team For 2015 Announced
The Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council Inc. has named its Under 18 team to play a Crusaders Under 18 selection in Blenheim, on Monday 13 July.
The players have been selected from across the eight Provincial Unions which make up the Hurricanes region.
This year, the team is coached by Darren Larsen (Hurricanes Development), Blair van Stipraan (Palmerston North Boys’ High School) and Tom Cairns (Gisborne Boys’ High School). The Team Manager is Nick Reid (Awatapu High School). This is the third year that the Council has selected an Under 18 team.
The Hurricanes U18 team is formed by the Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council, an incorporated society formed by the East Coast, Poverty Bay, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa-Bush, Wellington, Horowhenua-Kapiti, Manawatu and Wanganui Provincial Unions for the purposes of developing youth rugby in the region.
The 23 players selected are as follows.
Hawkes Bay: Tiaan Falcon, Tim Farrell, Marino Mikaele-Tuu, Al Moimoisea, Pouri Rakete-Stones.
Manawatu: Sione Asi, Braydon Iose, Vilimoni Korori, Jona Nareki, and Thomas Stewart.
Poverty Bay: Angus McDonald, Naera Tipoki, and Isaia Walker-Leawere. Wanganui: Stephen Perofeta.
Wellington: Asafo Aumua, Josh Brown, Alex Fidow, Losi Filipo, Kemara Hauiti-Parapara, Henry Mexted, Ben Power, Thomas Umaga-Jensen, and Peter Umaga-Jensen.
