Grounds Update and Trust House Memorial Park

18th February 2020
Grounds Update and Trust House Memorial Park

Following from the WBRU Council of Club and WBRU Junior Rugby meetings over the last few days, we feel it is important keep all our rugby clubs informed about the actions currently being undertaken to assist the clubs in their trainings and games.

At this stage, most fields are out of action around the Wairarapa District (with a few exceptions).

Without any forecasted rain over the next few weeks, rugby clubs are making alternative arrangements for trainings. It is looking very unlikely, some rugby club fields will be available to play pre-season games.

A number of rugby clubs and colleges (along with other sporting codes) have been booking the artificial turf.

If you want to book the turf please contact Stacey Puddy at s.puddy@waibush.co.nz. There are limited spaces at this stage, though the Stadium Trust is trying to accommodate as many teams and clubs as possible from all sporting groups.

WBRU have written to the Masterton District Council for an urgent meeting to discuss the current status of the rugby fields around Masterton.

Any rugby club or college who is experiencing difficulties with their fields due to the drought conditions, please feel free contact myself directly on 0274-738-367.

Club Draw 2020
The full 2020 Premier Draw will be released to the public later this week with an exciting opening game on Friday night game on 3rd April between the 2019 Tui Cup Champions Martinborough and losing finalists Gladstone.
