WEEK 5 WAIRARAPA BUSH CLUB SEASON
Well the sun really shone on Saturday and I had the privilege of spending time watching the JAB Rippa Under 6s at Jean Street. My observation was really simple, everyone was having fun and hats off to the Pioneer premier players who were involved in the day doing different duties. Then I grabbed a coffee and spent the middle of the day watching Rathkeale College 1st XV playing St Peter’s (Cambridge). On the side-line I was approached by a couple of parents who wanted to know more about the “What About You” campaign and the rugby union’s Well-Being promotion. It is great to see people are aware of an important program for our members.
Finally, the coffee was replaced with a bottle of water as I headed to Gladstone to watch the Premier game between East Coast and Gladstone. Great footy and extremely good humour on the side-line. The new scoreboard is fantastic and I enjoyed the last 20 minutes up in the north-eastern side of the grounds with some very passionate and knowledgeable Gladstone supporters.
Finally, the Childsey and Persico Rugby Show is extremely popular with over 2,000 views a week.
Rugby, more than just a game.
