WEEK 6 WAIRARAPA BUSH CLUB SEASON
Jubilees, Old Timer’s Days and beautiful weather graced our rugby grounds on Saturday.
Firstly we want to congratulate our Makoura College Combined Secondary Schools Girls team for their storming start to the Manawatu rugby 10’s competition with 3 straight wins (vs Dannevirke High School 29-17, Feilding High School Blue 35-5, Feilding High School Red 40-10). The team is made up of girls from Makoura College, Chanel College, Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Wairarapa and Solway College.
We want to make a special mention to our great sponsors Southey Sayer (Chartered Accountants) for their accounting support for the Rugby Union and the Stadium Trust, for providing monthly services to both organisations “free of charge” since 2017. To Becks Sayer and the team, thank you.
We are excited about the “What About You” Senior Reserve finals being played next Friday under lights at Trust House Memorial Park 7pm. Who will it be?
The Premier competition just keeps getting better and better. I am going to chuck in a curve ball here, expect a round of upsets this week and we won’t know until next week who has made it.
Finally, the WBRU Code of Conduct is important, please make sure you encourage your team mates and club members to act in the best possible way – it makes the weekend of sport so much better for everyone.
For my game of the week, I am heading to the Pioneer Under 13s vs Masterton Red Star Under 13s, Colombo Road 10.30am.
Rugby, more than just a game.
