WEEK 7 WAIRARAPA BUSH CLUB SEASON
Important Announcement re: WBRU Club, College and Junior Rugby for the weekend 15th August 2020 (Due to Level TWO and NZRU Policies and Protocols)
The WBRU, Council of Club Delegates and the JAB Delegates have agreed on the following, after considering guidance from NZRU, Ministry of Health and Sport NZ; –
Junior Rugby: Postponed for one week, up to and including Saturday 15th August 2020
College Rugby: Postponed for one week, up to and including Saturday 15th August 2020. This does not include competitions that are administraded by College Sport Wellington and CNI.
Senior Reserve Ryan Cup Final: The WBRU will consult with Greytown and East Coast Senior Reserve teams on the date and venue of the game.
Senior Reserve President Cup Final: The WBRU will consult with Marist and Gladstone Senior Reserve teams on the date and venue of the game.
Final Round of the Moose Kapene Cup:
Level Two Ministry of Health and NZRU guidelines state there can be no more than 100 people at any sporting event.
Therefore, it has been agreed by the Council of Clubs,
- If the government announces at approximately 5.30pm on Friday that the rest of NZ is to return to Level ONE, all Moose Kapene games only will be played on Saturday at the original venues and kick-off times,
OR
- If the government announces that we are to remain at Level TWO, all Moose Kapene Cup games will be postponed for one week and the Council of Clubs will reconvene on Sunday 16th August to approve the venues for the remainder of the season.
Reasons for the postponements:
- The public safety of our players, supporters and families are at the centre of our decision.
- Under Level TWO there can only be a maximum of 100 people at any one game.
- The Delegates agreed every opportunity should be given to ensure the best opportunity for the clubs to keep the supporters and the teams connected in the final few weekends of rugby and to be explored if Level TWO remains.
This Saturday’s Premier Club games announcement of either continuing to be played or postponing for one week, will be made ASAP on Friday afternoon/evening.
